Harlan Thrombey ist tot! Und nicht nur das – der renommierte Krimiautor und Familienpatriarch wurde auf der Feier zu seinem 85. Geburtstag umgebracht. Doch natürlich wollen weder die versammelte exzentrische Verwandtschaft noch das treu ergebene Hauspersonal etwas gesehen haben. Ein Fall für Benoit Blanc! Der lässig-elegante Kommissar beginnt seine Ermittlungen und während sich sämtliche anwesenden Gäste alles andere als kooperativ zeigen, spitzt sich die Lage zu und das Misstrauen untereinander wächst. Ein komplexes Netz aus Lügen, falschen Fährten und Ablenkungsmanövern muss durchkämmt werden, um die Wahrheit hinter Thrombeys vorzeitigem Tod zu enthüllen.
